Jonas Kaufmann, the acclaimed tenor, has unveiled the first single from his highly anticipated album titled "The Sound of Movies."
The lead single chosen is "Conquest of Paradise," originally featured in Ridley Scott's 1992 film "1492: Conquest of Paradise." The song, originally composed by Greek musician Vangelis, achieved widespread success upon its release, capturing the hearts of audiences in various regions including Flanders, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
Kaufmann's forthcoming album pays homage to a century of iconic movie songs, encompassing timeless classics such as "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Gladiator," "The Great Caruso," "West Side Story," "Cinema Paradiso," "The Sound of Music," "Scent of a Woman," and "The Deer Hunter," among many others.
Scheduled to be released on September 15, 2023, through Sony Classical, this album promises to be a stunning collection that showcases Kaufmann's remarkable talent and his interpretation of these beloved cinematic melodies.
