The 2023-24 season of Teatro La Fenice has been announced, featuring a diverse lineup of operas and concerts. Here are some of the highlights.
Operas
"Les Contes d'Hoffmann" stars Ivan Ayon Rivas as the title character, accompanied by Alex Esposito, Rocio Pérez, Veronique Gens, and Carmela Remigio. Antonello Manacorda conducts the production directed by Damiano Michieletto. Performance Dates: Nov. 24 - 30, 2023.
"Pinocchio" is conducted by Marco Paladin, featuring Michela Antenucci as Pinocchio and Matteo Ferrara as Geppetto. Christian Collia, Rocco Cavalluzzi, Rosa Bove, and Lara Lagni also join the cast. Performance Dates: Jan. 18 - 24, 2024.
"Il Barbiere di Siviglia" showcases Ruzil Gatin, Omar Montanari, Marina Comparato, Alessandro Luongo, and Francesco Milanese. Renata Palumbo conducts the production by Bepi Morassi. Performance Dates: Jan. 26 - Feb. 13, 2024.
"La Bohème" stars Celso Albelo, Claudia Pavone, Mariam Battistelli, Alessio Arduini, Armando Gabba, and Adolfo Corrado. Stefano Ranzani conducts the production by Francesco Micheli. Performance Dates: Feb. 2 - 10, 2024.
Francesco Dotto and Vincenzo Costanzo lead the cast of Respighi's "Maria Egiziaca," conducted by Manlio Benzi and directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi. Performance Dates: March 8 - 16, 2024.
"Mefistofele" features Alex Esposito, Piero Pretti, and Maria Agresta, with Nicola Luisotti conducting the production by Moshe Leiser and Patrice Caurier. Performance Dates: April 12 - 23, 2024.
"Marco Polo" is conducted by Luisa Russo and directed by Emanuele Gamba. Performance Dates: April 18 - 21, 2024.
"Don Giovanni" stars Markus Werba and Alessio Ardiuni in alternating performances. Robert Treviño conducts the production directed by Damiano Michieletto. Performance Dates: May 16 - 25, 2024.
"Tamerlano" is conducted by Diego Fasolis and directed by Fabio Ceresa. Performance Dates: June 7 - 15, 2024.
"Ariadne auf Naxos" features Sara Jakubiak, John Matthew Meyers, Olga Paduva, and Markus Werba. Markus Stenz conducts the production directed by Paul Curran. Performance Dates: June 21 - 30, 2024.
"Turandot" showcases Maria José Siri, Michele Pertusi, Fabio Sartori, and Selene Zanetti, with Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducting the production by Cecilia Ligorio. Performance Dates: August 30 - Sept. 18, 2024.
The season also includes a double bill of "La Fabbrica Illuminata" and "Erwartung," concerts featuring renowned soloists, and an all-Wagner program.
